Blazers!

Jessie and I went up to Portland Wednesday night for a Trailblazers game. Although we were in the nose bleed section we had a great time. We went with the Lake Oswego YSA. Met lots of nice, new people, took public transportation, and stood next to a couple drunk(flask in hand) "delightful" young men. Blazers won of course and I saw my future husband. #12. LaMarcus Aldridge. Beautiful, yet kind of goofy looking, black man. Heaven!

PS here's my new favorite joke. *Ahem*
Why did Beethoven get rid of his chickens?
Beacause they were always saying "Bach, Bach, Bach!" :)

One more tonight...

Ok so we also had a little get together to make "gingerbread houses." Fun was had by all...I think. We had candy and Christmas music and even an ugly sweater! Then to end the Christmas festivities we watched Dark Knight. :)

My awesome hat was not part of the festivities but it should have been!

O Christmas Tree...

How lovely are your branches. So lovely. Mom, Scott, Megan and I went and got our Christmas trees Saturday. It is Scott and Megan's first tree together. Can I get an "awwww?" So cute. Anyways it was really cold and muddy, but we had fun!

Artemisia Gentileschi...

I had forgotten how much I enjoy learning about art and artists. I was 'helping' Amanda last night with her art history paper, when the spark inside rekindled. (Like that?) :) Many moons ago in my art history class I did a report on Artemisia Gentileschi and her painting, Judith and Her Maidservant with the Head of Holofernes. She was one of the only women painters at that time and was ridiculed for it. Her father was an artist as well. I just love the way she paints, how she uses shadows and such. So here are a few of her paintings. Enjoy!

Funny Stuff!

So I don't even know this person, but I wish I did! I've been blog hopping today and this is a friend of a friend. I think you should check out this blog. http://myregisblog.blogspot.com/

Here's a couple of my favorites:

I am thinking of starting a satelite TV network here in Utah.
It would be called Tight Like Unto A Dish Network and it wouldn't have Showtime or HBO.

I guess Arnold Friberg must have read the Liahona Study Guide...

"Ask it if Ishmael's daughter likes my furry vest."

Monday, monday...

So... I really should be doing something productive, like my PS homework or...I can't think of anything else. Since I am at work you will be getting lots of posts from me. Be excited. Right now I would like to tell you a little about my friend Carrie. She is quite the singer. Stacy, Scoobie, Amanda, Megan and I went up to Portland to see her, along with a ton of other people, on Monday night. It was a lot of fun, I really enjoyed myself. Ok so I lied. Carrie Underwood is not my friend. But, I'm sure we would be if she new me. For sure.

Coolest thing EVER!

Ok so maybe not the coolest thing ever, but pretty close! Here I sit, busy at work, looking through the Staples store catalog. What do I stumble across? An electric crayon sharpener! Most of you probably have seen one or even own one, (if so envious sigh in your general direction) but this is a new thing for me! Where were these when I was growing up. No more ripping off the wrapper and coloring with stubs. Boy do kids these days have it easy...
